so is this that big that the cult is really shuttering all these halls for good?

The people upset by letters are overreacting
Every week I get 2 or 3 car insurance offers, someone willing to buy my house, St. JUDE, shrine hospital, PETA, and travel offers. Simple to trash them.

by MattyR init seems they are encouraging jws to get vaccinated.
not directly but a subtle suggestion.
it seems they hinted a possible return.

Best argument yet against getting vaccinated (I am)
Get the vaccine and you will qualify to run mikes, travel to meeting, go door to door, get coerced into hospitality.
I think I will hide behind old age and senility

from article: "Rising sea levels, pushed west by gradual extensions to training walls on the Buller River, have slowly eroded the shoreline at Carters Beach over the last century. "
100 years of manmade structures changing currents. Not climate
The climate is and always changes. Causing upheavals in social constructs and mis identifying, ( magnifying) causes will do more damage

What Did You Think Of The Songs Sung At The Kingdom Hall?
by minimus inwhen i was younger we had song books and i recall that some of the songs were pretty catchy.
then they revised it took some of those songs out, and added more.
i have to admit some songs were pretty good.

They make every effort to not sound hymn like. The old words and unusual grammar arrangements are poetic devices, not church talk. You find them in pop music too

Locals just sent a big check because the bank account had money over the recommended (mandated) amount for operations. And no, they didnt think about the needed roof replacement. I got a blank stare when I asked if the "owner" had insurance or a fund for that. I knew the answer, was trolling a bit

Should Jehovah’s Witnesses Be Involved In Social Issues?
by minimus inmost religious leaders support social justice causes.
even if they don’t heavily involve themselves in political matters, they still support social community issues.. do you respect when religious leaders involve themselves in the community for the community’s welfare?
?.

No. Social justice is a red herring in most instances
Doing actual charity work like disaster cleanup would be good but things like reimagining social constructs is wrong. Not that there aren't social constructs that need changed but there almost always is an agenda that gets in the way.

“Joshua” and “Jesus” are the same Greek and Hebrew/Aramaic name: is this not confusing?
by psyco ingod’s name disappeared in the christian greek scriptures and its pronunciation got lost in the hebrew-aramaic ones.
the current vowels of the hebrew pronunciation of god’s name are taken from the “adonay” (“lord”) hebrew word which were the vowels chosen by who did not want to pronounce his name.
whereas the current latin pronunciation of god’s name (“jehovah”) was introduced by raymundus martini, a spanish monk of the dominican order, in his book published in 1270 c.e.

Every name in the bible is made up. The translation describes the person, good or bad. Who assigned the names?
